      South Aceh, there are several tourist attractions in South Aceh crowded on holidays. Cold Water Baths

About South Aceh, What is South Aceh?


South Aceh District is one district in Aceh province, Indonesia. Prior to stand alone as an autonomous district, South Aceh district candidate is part of West Aceh district. Formation of South Aceh district marked by the passing of Emergency Law No. 7 of 1956 on 4 November 1956.

South Aceh district on April 10, 2002 officially divided in accordance with Republic Act No. 4 of 2002 into three districts, namely: Southwest Aceh district, Aceh Singkil and Aceh Regency South.

District which has the largest population is the District Labuan Haji, followed by the District of North Kluet. While the fewest number of residents is Sawang subdistrict. Most of the population concentrated along the coastal highway and the river edge.

The topography of South Aceh district are varied, consisting of low-lying, undulating, hilly, up to the mountains with very steep slope / steep. 

From the data obtained, the topography with very steep slope / steep reaches 63.45%, whereas a plateau is only about 34.66% with dominant slope is the slope of ³ 40% slope with wide 254.138.39 ha and the smallest slope 8 -15% area of ​​175.04 hectares a variety of rest dispersed on the slope. Judging from the altitude (above sea level) height 0-25 meters has the largest area of ​​the 152 648 hectares (38.11%) and the smallest is the height of 25-00 meters covering 39 720 hectares (9.92%). 

Meanwhile, most of the soil types in South Aceh district is red-yellow podzolic area of ​​161.022 hectares and the least is the type of soil regosol (only 5.213 ha).

South Aceh district has 3 native tribes, the tribe of Aceh (60%),  Aneuk Jamee rate (30%) and Kluet rate (10%).  Aneuk Jamee tribe is Minangkabau immigrants who have lived there since the 15th century. While it is no longer using the customary matrilineal system, but they still use the language of Aceh Minangkabau dialect (Languange Aneuk Jamee) in everyday conversation.
